Biography

I am a self-taught dabbler of the paint brush. For me, art is more than a visual medium – it is a narrative force that engages both the heart and the mind. Success for me is storytelling, emphasizing an invitation for the viewer to explore and interpret.
I draw inspiration from the vast beauty of prairie life, the rhythms of nature and the charm of my surroundings. Painting in a realistic/impressionistic style using photos I have taken for reference. are typically the best source of material, since they capture the image, composition and design I prefer. I usually work from 2 or 3 photos which I may combine to enhance the important elements and eliminate anything that will not contribute to the success of the painting.
Bold and colorful describes my work which connects to my audience with emotions, stories and the vitality of my subjects. Whether focusing on movement, mood or moment, I bring narratives to life, inviting viewers to step into my world of visual storytelling.
Experimenting with a wide range of mediums, each with its own unique characteristics and appeal is something that excites me. Watercolor and Acrylic are my top favorite making every project a rewarding experience.
Throughout the years my work has been shown and displayed at various venues and locations.
